Nancy Reynolds
Nancy is a former top-ranked professional beach player. Over 20 years ago, she moved to California from the Midwest to pursue her dream of making it to the top. Achieving that goal was no easy task. Working multiple jobs, and finding time to train/practice, and learn the game was challenging.
She was fortunate to meet some current pros who were willing to support her in her endeavor. She has built lifelong relationships with many of these women. One of them was an indoor coach at Mira Costa High School and asked Nancy to help coach the JV team. Nancy took up coaching at the high school at that time and has been a part of the storied program for almost 2 decades.
She is the current Head Coach for Mira Costa’s Beach team, the #1 ranked program in the country and reigning CIF Champions.
Eric Fonoimoana
Eric is an Olympic Gold Medalist in the sport of Beach Volleyball. He graduated from UC Santa Barbara with a BA in Sociology and a minor in Coaching. Fonoimoana was a professional athlete for 16 years and has been coaching for over 20+ years. He was the head coach for the Mira Costa High School Women’s Beach team that went 87-0. Then, Eric was the assistant coach for USC Women’s Beach, which finished as the NCAA Runner-Up with a 32-6 record in 2019. He worked closely with USC compliance, so he clearly understands the rules and regulations of NCAA collegiate sports. He has helped over 140 beach student-athletes get recruited into Division I schools.
Iya Lindahl
Iya Lindahl is a current beach volleyball professional on the AVP and FIVB tour. She played 4 years at UC Berkeley and 1 year at Loyola Marymount University, where she and her team took 3rd place in NCAA Championships in 2021. She has coached beach volleyball at WAVE Volleyball club since 2015 until moving to the South Bay in 2020 and continuing her coaching at different clubs and via private lessons. She is now excited to join the SBS coaching squad!
